Internet Threats

The Internet is the largest information and educational resource on the planet but it is also the source of many potential threats. The threat from virus attack is high and Internet users must take at least basic measures to mitigate the risk of infection and data compromise or corruption. Another annoying threat comes from adware and spyware. These topics are presented in a series of articles below to assist you to understand the threat, detect the presence of virus infection and to eliminate it from your computer.

If you use the Internet and do not have at least a personal firewall installed I will gaurantee that your computer is infected. You may think I'm a little dramatic? What if I suggest that even if you are using a personal firewall then your computer is probably infected. If you think that your computer is clean you must read the articles below. I'll provide you with the tools to detect the malicious code that is lurking in your computer and I'll describe how to remove it.

I've presented a range of freeware software, detailed in the final article, that is very effective in detecting and removing malicious code - I recommend you use these products regularly.
